Downtown Columbia, Maryland Developer Wins $17 Million
A jury awarded Huddles Jones Sorteberg & Campbell client IMH Columbia, LLC nearly $17 million for delays on a project located on Lake Kittamaqundi in Downtown Columbia, Maryland. The trial focused on a six-acre parcel where IMH renovated a hotel and plans to develop adjacent land with a mixed-use residential and office project. The jury found that years of delay to the project were caused by the unlawful interference of competitor Howard Research and Development Corporation, a subsidiary of the Howard Hughes Corp.
IMH was represented by our partner, Nicole Campbell, as well as co-counsel Michael Eidel of Fox Rothschild and Jessica Haire of Thompson Hine LLP.
