Nicole L. Campbell

Nicole Campbell is an attorney with Huddles Jones Sorteberg & Campbell, P.C. Ms. Campbell’s practice focuses on the resolution of construction disputes, both locally and around the country, on private and government construction projects.

She represents a variety of companies working in the construction industry, including owners, general contractors, subcontractors and equipment suppliers. Ms. Campbell has represented her clients in all aspects of construction dispute resolution, including mediations, arbitrations, trials, appeals and settlements by negotiation.

She has significant experience representing her clients in both state and federal courts, before various government boards of appeals, as well as in arbitration proceedings both before the American Arbitration Association and elsewhere. Ms. Campbell’s experience includes the filing of mechanic’s liens, payment bond actions and all other types of construction related claims. She also assists her clients in drafting contracts, change orders, and releases and negotiates on behalf of her clients with other parties to avoid disputes when issues arise during construction projects. Prior to joining Huddles Jones Sorteberg & Campbell, P.C. in 2005, Ms. Campbell practiced commercial litigation at Piper Rudnick LLP in Baltimore, Maryland. In that position, she worked in all phases of trial and appellate practice.

  • Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Service Volunteer of the Year Award, 2001
  • Selected as a Maryland Super Lawyer for Construction Litigation (2013-2022)
  • A jury awarded Huddles Jones Sorteberg & Campbell client IMH Columbia, LLC nearly $17 million for delays on a project located on Lake Kittamaqundi in Downtown Columbia, Maryland.  The trial focused on a six-acre parcel where IMH renovated a hotel and plans to develop adjacent land with a mixed-use residential and office project.  The jury found that years of delay to the project were caused by the unlawful interference of competitor Howard Research and Development Corporation, a subsidiary of the Howard Hughes Corp. IMH was represented by our partner, Nicole Campbell, as well as co-counsel Michael Eidel of Fox Rothschild and Jessica Haire of Thompson Hine LLP.
