Joseph L. Katz Associate, Huddles Jones Sorteberg & Dachille pc
Mr. Katz joined the firm in September 2007. Prior to joining Huddles Jones Sorteberg & Dachille, P.C., Mr. Katz was an associate at a Washington, D.C. law firm practicing exclusively construction and government contract law. Mr. Katz has prosecuted and defended numerous mechanic’s liens, payment bond claims and civil actions on behalf of general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers throughout Maryland. He has successfully tried and/or negotiated and settled construction disputes of all types, including delay and acceleration claims, additional work and/or scope issues, differing site conditions and wrongful termination claims. He has found that often, it takes knowledgeable contract negotiation and hands-on involvement throughout the course of a project to ensure that a contractor’s position is well-documented and persuasively presented to avoid protracted litigation. Mr. Katz has also represented owners and developers on a variety of construction-related matters.
As a member of the Baltimore Chapter, Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) Small Business and Young Leaders Committees, Mr. Katz is dedicated to community involvement and industry education.
