Mr. Michel joined the firm in May 2000. Prior to joining Huddles Jones Sorteberg & Dachille pc, Mr. Michel was a Construction Services Engineer in the Corporate Engineering Department of Westvaco Corporation (now Mead Westvaco). Mr. Michel planned and managed all aspects of major capital construction projects for this international manufacturer of paper, packaging, and specialty chemicals. Mr. Michel defined project scopes, created critical path schedules utilizing Primavera Project Planner, solicited competitive bids, evaluated contractor proposals, negotiated and awarded contracts, monitored and controlled costs, oversaw outside engineering consultants, managed on-site construction, and administered claims on industrial projects with installed costs to $110,000,000. Mr. Michel also received a U.S. Patent for inventing a Center Column Extension for use on waste treatment plant clarifiers.

Prior to Westvaco, Mr. Michel was employed as a Project Manager and Project Engineer with The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company from 1987 to 1993. During this time, Mr. Michel managed all aspects of commercial, institutional, and industrial design-build projects for this nationally recognized general construction firm. He prepared cost estimates and firm price quotations, created and maintained project schedules utilizing Primavera Project Planner, negotiated and administered subcontracts, coordinated outside engineering consultants, controlled project costs, supervised project engineers and craft labor, and directed on-site construction activity for projects to $25,000,000.
