Roger C. Jones is the founding partner and managing director of Huddles Jones Sorteberg & Campbell, P.C. (f/k/a Huddles Jones Sorteberg & Dachille), which was established in 1995 and which continues to be recognized every year by U. S. News and World Report as one of America’s premier construction law firms. He has practiced construction and government contract law for over 39 years and represents a large number of clients in the Washington, Baltimore metropolitan areas as well as in numerous other cities throughout the U.S.
Mr. Jones has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America every year since 2003. He has also been nominated by his peers as a Maryland Super Lawyer since 2011. In addition, Mr. Jones has received the recognition of being in the top 10% of America’s Most Honored Professionals every year since 2013. In 2017, Mr. Jones was featured in a book published by World Wide Publishing, entitled Top Lawyers: The Secrets to Their Success. In 2018, Mr. Jones was selected by Top Attorney’s in North America to be a member of their President’s Circle. Mr. Jones was also awarded The Marquis Who’s Who, Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. Mr. Jones has extensive experience in construction claims. Mr. Jones’ education includes a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from The Catholic University of America in 1982, and a J.D. degree from Washington University in 1985. His studies in Architecture included a post-graduate concentration in construction management. With this background, he has a keen ability to understand and comprehend the work of numerous different construction trades, and construction CPM scheduling. This enables Mr. Jones to work well with construction clients, engineers and consultants, who respect his style and simplified manner for presenting technical construction information.
Mr. Jones is licensed in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia and is admitted to practice in the local courts of each jurisdiction as well as the U.S. Federal District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Colorado. He is also admitted in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and the 11th Circuit as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. Given his practice in federal government construction litigation, Mr. Jones is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
